Looks like a winner......although the high-to-low voltage fluxuations don't give me a warm fuzzy feeling, that's pretty wide, if you're an OC'er.
What's the power rating at a sagged voltage? Just so we know how good the PFC is. Good active PFC will keep the voltage rock solid, average PFC will allow some fluctuation. Still tolerable, and better than none at all, but not "right", if ya know what I mean.
I imagine the main power cable plug-in is tight for a reason, that's alot of heavy wiring, and it usually has to take a tight bend to plug into most mobos. A looser cable would probably wiggle out over time......I'm surprised they made it removable, there's really no reason to.
I don't know if you have access to a voltage regulator (power soak), but a test of the PFC would be nice, just to see how effective it is.

Thermaltake has a reputation for quality power supplies, at reasonable prices...but this one seems a bit on the expensive side, like you said.

I think that's MSRP, and even if it isn't, it's in line with other good PSU's with the same stuff. I'd expect to pay $110-$140 for a high-quality PSU, myself. Expensive for ThermalTake, sure, but not compared to everybody else.
