Ok, this is a toughie for you guys.

I have exactly $100 to spend, should have it in a week or so. What I need is something comparable to my 9600 Pro. Not going for the greatest card in the world, and I don't have a credit card, so Newegg and those guys are pretty much out.

I'm open to brands, doesn't matter much to me, as long as it's not a 'generic' like Mad Dog or some such, I do prefer that it's a decent brand. Hit me with what you got......it's just got to be DX9.0 capable.

Are you paying with PayPal or cash? If it's PayPal then there is a way to change your account so it acts like a credit card and you can use it at places that don't accept PayPal or money orders.

I have a PayPal account tied directly to my bank account. Most places take that as immediate payment. Even if they don't, it only takes 3 days to clear, so it's not a big deal.

SPAMMER!!

Anyway, I'd say yes. The 9800Pro is a fantastic card. I'd say look around and read some reviews though...if you can find one with 256MB of memory, it's quite likely that you have a R360 core. You can flash those to a 9800XT...an even better deal than the 9800pro.

I'm working on this myself, but I need to break down and buy a floppy drive. Unless...now I'm spamming....does anyone know if a USB floppy will read in DOS for flashing and the like? 'cause I got a free USB floppy w/ my new laptop

THREAD DERAILLER!!!

If you can set your BIOS to boot off of a USB drive (Boot Other), then yeah, you can use a USB drive to flash. ATI provides a bootable CD ISO though, so you could also boot off of that.
