CCleaner
RegCompact.NET
then I defrag.
works like a charm, my system runs like a fresh install.

All of the above plus AdAware and Norton System Utilities. Really does a super job. I especially love it right after I do the whole procedure and the system runs SUPER fast at first. It goes away after a few months of use though. =[

No it doesn't cost money, well Diskeeper does but their is no alternative, the integrated Disk Defragmenter is poor. And getting the best performance is a little more involved then that. Those applications don't even touch on what should be done. 99% of what should be done in the link is Free. Norton is a Dog performance wise and everything is offers can be got for free, again except for Speeddisk but Diskeeper does a much better job and if you are going to be spending the money buy the best defragmenter. |

Yes, Norton is a load of $h1t I use Diskeeper sometimes too. But as those programs! You are a snap. I am an experienced developer who knows the system inside out and I am telling you that those programs are BS on your page all you need is the ones I reccomended! |

Yeah right, please list the program and why it is not needed.
#1 if you think Spybot detects all Spyware, think again.
#2 I have over 15+ years of experience with this and you will see a difference in performance. Not to mention the Guide is not just about some utilities it also explains settings to change as well. |

| i guess i was a bit harsh, but you do have loads of ads on your page that blend in well and look like real content. Your site looks like it's just been made to get ad clicks, and you are posting in this forum to make money from your google ads and for getting commision for sales of diskeeper. If you have so much experience why are you trying to make money off advertising? Why don't you get a job? |

Don't be jealous and immature since you are unable to back up anything you say. I've met people like you all over, they get jealous real quick when someone comes around who knows more then they do. This Guide is called Optimize XP, it has nothing to do with the crap program by the same name. The guide is 100% free, actually works and includes advice you will not find anywhere else.
Simple example:
"Update - Spybot by default now ignores certain products such as New.Net and Sidestep for no good reason. New.Net compromises the WinSock stack by routing all your DNS queries through the NewDotNet.DLL. To enable detection go to "Settings", "Ignore products", "All products" Tab, right click on "Product", left-click on "Deselect all". Then run another scan."
I wish people would actually read things before making stupid assumptions. |

Yes there is alot of ads on that page, one reason why I wont go back there even though the content is good. But as I said before in another thread; unless you are the owner of said content stop quoting the site.
