Ok, im sure we all heard about the hl2 "stolen code" that was taken by some hacker in the valve system. now, thats all really crazy and all, but, if you really think about it, the hacker obviously wouldnt have screwed the whole project and delayed it, lets say, like 7 months or something. HL2 was a HUGE supprise at E3 this year, and they were saying like, September 30th release! that was so exciting. Then it got pushed to oct something, which is normal cause its gonna be a great game. but then randomly when they dont hold that date. this stolen code stuff comes up. I think its all a scam and valve just doesnt want to say that they missed there realeases, because frankly, valve ALWAYS misses release dates. cs 1.6/ some of cond zero. and tf2(?) where the hell did that go. anyway, thats my thoughts on the topic. _________________ Epox 8rda+

What would be their benefit in doing so?
How would this make them money?
Did this news effect their stock-price?
Are they even publicly traded?
I am inclined to disbelive a conspiracy. |

Especially since parts of the code have been posted online. Not to mention the build that has been making it's way around the net that's been taken from that stolen code.
Steverage has a serious point. Valve has a serious commitment to quality games. They've had no problem pushing back release dates and holding games until they feel they're ready. Why wouldn't they just continue to do this instead of going through this elaborate preocess of "stealing their code" and then releasing parts of it online? _________________ __________[(Crayola)]>_____________

It's all a conspiracy, you see senator are fighting hard to keep destroy the videogame industry, that's why they keep preventing valve from releasing they're games. But when they saw that they could no longer keep valve from realisin HL2 the evil senators hacked into valved network and stole the sacre source code. This in term caused the USSR to reunite, and soon we will all be destroyed by the soviets. All because the crazy, evil senators don't like videogames.

I think they might have made it up. It has already been proven that they faked the real time demo ( scripted) at E3. There has been zero talk of HL2. No confirmed release date at all. Vivendi withdrew the April release date and Valve is saying nothing. They have a hug problem with ATI because ATI would not have signed that deal if they knew this was going to happen. Hell the game might not be out for a year. Valve has screwed up releases many times before. It all seems way to convienent. Wouldnt they be talking more if it truly wasnt their fault and they were hacked? I think they would be. The game might not come out for a year. Honestly this could happen. I hope they release it next week before X mas and pull the old suprise move that has not been utilized enough by companies. They dont need to market this game anyway, its gonna sell millions of copies. I think they are lying because something is up within Valve regarding the development. Hell Condition Zero ain't out either. Way to many no shows from Valve. People should stop defending the company so strongly. I am not saying that people should say screw Valve but to me the situation is really fishy. Also Steam is a bust and everyone hates it. Look at the big picture guys. Look at all the negatives. The only positive is that they handed us the best PC game ever built on the best engine ever. I love their artisitc work but their PR, organization, and outright BS is rather disturbing.
What would happen if HL2 was a disappointment. Can't wait for the game nonetheless.
