is there any way to make ur computer shut down after its completed a task...

im converting some video files to be recorded to dvd... and ima bout to knod sittin here...
im on my xaser doing this none the less... and the noise this late at nite... urhm early in the morning is making my ears bleed...

so recap.. shutdown comp.. after it done with task...

You could try Poweroff 3.0 if your software has the option to close when it has completed its tasks. Poweroff will monitor running processes and execute when a selected process ends.

Poweroff can also schedule shutdowns if you so desire.

Check the program you're using to convert the files. Most of them have the option to shut down after the program finishes. You can also use Windows own Task Manager to schedule an automatic shutdown at a specific time.

er......task scheduler, I meant.

Control Panel > Scheduled Tasks >Add New Task.

ite... so i would just set it to shut down like 4.00am or such... ? hour after my i fall asleep... lmao

but i hate to say i could never get the scheduled tasks to werk for me ... no matter what i tried.. is there a patch or somtheing that is hould be using?

Nope, it should work just fine, I've used it myself on a number of occasions. Back when I actually used to shut my computer down, that is.
