|
|
Hi,
As I have already mentioned in other topics, I will soon be purchasing new Alpine components. Just recently I have decided that there is no need for me to have the JBL sub aswell as the 2 Alpine type R's. Therefore I have an idea to sell the JBL sub and the Sony Xplod Amp, and use that money to buy an Alpine amp to power those new Alpine components. Does anyone agree if this is a good idea- will it be worth it?? If so, why? |

None of the above?
Very bad choices for amps IMOHO. Especially legacy and pyle. Lanzar is just . . . ok. worse than jensen though _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

Here is my new list of audio components that I will soon have complete:
Alpine CDA-9830 HU
2x 13cm 120w Pioneer Door speakers
Alpine MRV-301 Amp powering:
2x 6"x9" Alpine S Type speakers
2x 13cm Alpine E Type Coaxials with tweeters
Lanzar Vibe268 amp powering:
2x Alpine R Type 12" subwoofers (one on each channel)
2awg in, 4awg out Distribution block
4 Farad Audiobahn Power Cap
What I am not sure of now is how to wire the Alpine speakers up to that Alpine amp. As there are 4 speakers here does it mean I need to buy a 4 channel amp? Many Thanks

2 Farad cap and 4 channel Alpine amp it is then
So Togglehead do you believe I am making a wise decision with this new setup? Will I be happier with it than with the one I first chose- is it worth the time? :) |

Hi again,
I am currently looking at a new amp for my two Alpine R's. Which would you prefer- 1000w Alpine Amp or 2000w Lanzar Amp? Cheerz :) |

| The specific amp I am looking at is the ALPINE MRV-F450. It has 4 channels for speakers and 1 special channel for subs. Check out its spec on the net if you havent heard it before. Many Thanks |

| Also I could buy two Alpine MRD-M301 amps to power the subs separately, or buy one ALPINE MRV-F545. Which of the three choices would give best results? |

i would definately power the subs with tht same amp..... better signal matching, so you wont get any distrotion btw subs...... or different response time _________________

I'm guessin you dont have any experience with these amps then? If not the specs are as follows for that same amp.....
50 watts RMS x 4 + 200 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
60 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms + 200 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
120 watts RMS x 2 + 200 watts RMS x 1 in bridged mode
2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-channel output
Requires 8-gauge power and ground leads — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier
Bass Engine® features:
Front and rear channels have variable 50-200 Hz high-pass/low-pass crossovers, 12 dB/octave
Sub channel has a 30-200 Hz low-pass crossover, 12 dB/octave
Selectable (15 Hz or 30 Hz) subsonic filter on the sub channel
Tuned Bass EQ (6 dB bass boost at 50 Hz with adjustable Q factor, while frequencies below 30 Hz are cut by 6 dB) on the sub channel
MOSFET power supply
STAR Topology (minimizes internal noise and prevents ground interference)
Oversized power and ground connections |

personally...i would power my subs with one amp...and my interiors with another.... very different loads on both of them and i think youll get better performance with two separate amps.....
and yeah youre right...i dont have much personal knowledge of those amps...=D _________________

I have found an Alpine D Class Amp that I really like, so could you please look at its spec below or search for MRD-M605 on the net to tell me if this has the power I am looking for for the Alpine subs I have. Your professional help is greatly appreciated:
» Mono subwoofer car amplifier
» 600 watts x 1 at 2 ohms (300 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms)
» Internal, variable-speed cooling fan
» MOSFET power supply and output stages
» STAR Topology for cleaner sound
» Bass Engine® features:
• Low-pass digital filter, 30-200 Hz, with a selectable 12 or 24 dB/octave slope
• Selectable subsonic filter (off, 15Hz, or 30 Hz)
• Parametric EQ variable from 30-160 Hz, ±12 dB
• Bass Compensator enhances low-end definition
» Top-mounted digital control center with cover
» CEA-2006 Compliant
» Preamp outputs
» Time correction 0-10 milliseconds in 0.1ms steps
» Phase adjustment 0-180°
» Turn-on delay
» Requires 4-gauge power and ground leads — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier
» Extra-large terminals |

For the alpine subs? If they are each a single 4 ohm voice coil that amp should do ok. _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

4 ohm DVC? Dual voice coils?
That would not be the best amp for the two subs. You can only wire those subs to 1, 4, or 8 ohms. Look for an amp that puts out about 600w at 1 ohm (probably a class D) _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |
