Yep, I get a white screen dns error quite a bit. I have to go back, refresh, then it's usually okay. It does it more when actually posting I've noticed.
I figure it is the reason for many of the double posts. _________________ .

Wow, I thought about posting regarding this problem but thought I shouldn't since I was convinced that it was a problem on my PC as it also very rarely happens on other sites. However, 99% of the time it happens it's on the TN site. So now I guess I'm not the only one experiencing this. Good thing you guys brought it up so we can investage it further, hopefully. _________________

Hmmm.....Z....You think this is IE related or maybe firewall? Seems you and I both see similar errors.
Anybody else? More clues please. _________________ .

I have 2 firewalls, one with Norton Internet Security set to High, and the other is a Windows firewall, set to ON.
Other than my dial-up being slow, (I'm changing to high speed/cable when we move in a couple weeks... ...) I haven't had problems with TN. Once every few weeks it says "the page is unavailable," like just a few minutes ago, but it's rare when that happens, and is usually back up within a few minutes.
Funny that it happened right after I posted about having no problems with it... Once TN was gone for a night and part of one day about a month (?) ago..... ...yikes!! _________________ ♫ Josh Awards=+12 -5 =7 ~HaM=3~ Ж=3 ~Zero_Fresh=3~Burgundian Award=1~JW=4 ~ ˙ =1~Sean=1~Dene=3 ~Putale Kudos=1~GMoney=4~Sally Grommit Award=1~Bunni & Badger=2 Gold Stars ♫

Yea, there was some downtime awhile back...normal, although undesirable.
I was just thinking maybe this was a firewall's firmware situation or such, I'm behind cisco/ linksys at home and work.
I'm just looking for clues, before crying wolf
PS...I also am now on SP2 in both places...but with IE firewall off. _________________ .

I've got a hardware firewall in my router, Netgear. I'm connected wirelessly, no Windows 2003 Enterprise Server firewalls or other software firewalls are even installed.
Just get the occasional server not found or something (error 500, if i'm not mistaken). _________________

a moment of silence
I've had this problem a few times with IE. TN will sometimes up and close. I haven't noticed it anywhere else, but then again i don't go to many other websites.
No problems with firefox. _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

Like Ham says "it's nothing that disturbs me" but....since it was posted, it seemed worth discussion/investigation.
I guess it is an IE prob then like TH said, and not any hardware. I say this cause of the ppl with firefox aren't seeing it. _________________ .

Yeah, I think you're right. It must be IE by the sounds of it. Definitely nothing wrong with the TN site itself, I'm pretty sure of that. _________________

| I think it's partially IE's problem. But I have notice that the site automatically refresh itself and usually when that happens ie will cause error. Wonder maybe it's somehow related. |
