cooling drives..

so im sending and recieving files right now and cleaning my fans at the same time.. is it that bad to run ur drives w/o cooling for a few hours?

no should be fine. Alot of HDDs go there entire life without direct airflow. So a few hours should be fine.

Look at most OEM computers, no cooling for hdd's to be found.

As long as there is case ventilation, you should be fine.

The drives will not be working 100% anyways.

Harddrives are one of the components you dont really need to worry about when it comes to temperatures. Another thing you can keep in mind is that your HDD is generally at the bottom of the chassis, and hot air rises, so its generally the coolest running component anyway.

ahhh... i am now enlightened.. now i think about it .. those dang oem computers dont have hd cooling they're just in with the floppy drive.. what the duece.. okay thanks u guys...

and i heard the term over kill today.. do u think having a tt. sf2 as front intake cooling 1 drive is over kill... i mean it is intake also... so.. *scratches head***

I said overkill when you had a tonado on your cpu heatsink.

Having good airflow is a good thing.

Just remember, have more exhaust than intake always.

Negative pressure is ideal for proper case cooling.
