get program such as pc wizard from (cpuid.com)
then you can read vga bios.
Also, I think under graphic card property, it shows bios (at lesat my nvidia does). |

sorry . Well, in that case, you can't really know the bios as it's inside the chip. Well, since you are RMA the card, I suggest just either look on the web to see if there's any bios number for your card and put it in the field. Or put NA as you don't know. |

go to their site to see if they have update of the bios or look around and see if anyone post a bios string. Then just put that number in so you can get your rma number. |

Hm........most vid cards have the BIOS number on the chip, same as with mobos.
I do find it silly that the manufacturer would require that for RMA on a DOA card.....how the heck are you supposed to get it? You need the reciept from the purchase, generally, that should tell them that it really IS their card.
I would just contact HiTech and say, "look, guys......I bought this card, I have the reciept, it's dead, for no apparent reason. It's under warranty, as proved by the card and the reciept, replace the damn thing." Too many vendors these days make warranties so hard to prove, just so they don't actually have to do anything.......all the proof is on you, and if you can't find a .006 micron size number on the board, they'll refuse to cover it. By law, all you need is the reciept showing purchase, and the actual product that failed. You are not responsible, as the consumer, for providing technical details that the average computer user would have no clue how to find.
Drivers are a non-issue, if you were using reference drivers. Version means nothing, if the card is dead.
If they won't honor the warranty without information that you're not responsible to have, then file a complaint with the BBB, and tell everyone you know not to do business with that company. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

^^what he said^^
What if you were a total n00b, and didn't even know what a bios was..is your warranty void then? _________________ Yeah....... ok |

as stated earlier the bios version version should be listed on the card. By the company requiring this info they are protecting themselves from fraudulent returns due to people trying to install an XT bios on a Pro card. And if the bios version that you give doesnt match the one on the card then it is obvious that there was tampering with the card that is not covered by the warranty. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back!
