Hey guys, little help. My temps always seem to float around 50-53'C cpu, and 40-41'C case temp (according to mbm5) specs are as follows;
Raidmax Cobra case
Antec 330watt psu
msi kt6v with via kt600 chipset
geforce 5700fx with coolermaster setup
20g maxtor hd
200g maxtor hd
amd 1800xp with 2400xp heatsink and coolermaster fan running at 1.55ghz
3x 80mm case fans
One of the case fans, plus the cpu fan are speed controlled and im not sure how to shut that off, I checked the bios and couldnt find anything. The other two are flat out all the time. The only other thing that im not happy with is that the little panel that goes over the outputs for the usb, lan etc on the back of the case was missing when i got the mobo, so its just open. (anyone know wehre i can find one?) My wires are all tied up nice and neat, made about a 1'C difference... My case has nothing blocking any side, and is about six inces off the ground. Sorry for the long post, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks _________________ How would I fit a t4 turbo to my computer... hmmm |

Are those temps load or idle? What is the room temp?
Are the fans plugged into the mobo or directly to the PSU?
You can probably get a plate for the mobo from the MSI website. |

Whether they are load or idle temps...the source of your problems is your case temperature...you dont want it to be any hihger than 35C at load...ideally ~30C load.
For the fans...do you mean "temperature" controlled? Or dial controlled?
Maybe invest in some better/more fans. _________________ »4 RS«»1Ж «»1 DENE«»1 FREAKIN LAME OH«»1 MONEY MONEY«

sorry about the lack of info... somewhat of a newb here. Thats my idle temps. two of the fans are molex (not using the fan only connectors) and one of them is plugged into the mobo, and I dont have any form of speed control other then the mobo which is supposed to slow the fans when ever possible for sound reasons. My room temp is about 35'C. _________________ How would I fit a t4 turbo to my computer... hmmm |

If room temp is 35C (a bit warm I would think) your case temps will always be higher. A rule of thumb I use is about 10C max difference between room temp and case temp.
Are you sure your room temp is 35C? |

Unfortunately my building is regulated and im always sweatin my a$$ off, i usually have the patio open. It because most of the people here are elderly. I did some playin with the fans and that, and I took out the little black screen that goes infront of the fan on the side, and my temps dropped down to 31-33'C case, and 47-48'C cpu at idle, so its a little better (not sure if thats what did it though) Im gonna try and get another set of fans, and put them in the front of the case drawing air in. _________________ How would I fit a t4 turbo to my computer... hmmm |

with an ambient temp that high you arent going to get your computer to run cooler than that. It just doesnt work that way.
I dont think that they would keep it that warm, 35c is about 95-96f. I would believe that they might keep it closer to 22-25c. But 35c might cook some of those oldins. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

lol, it does seem high, maybe my thermometer is no good, but i put two more fans in the case and my temp has settled at 34'C. which is what my thermometer currently reads as the room temperature. Lucky for me they turn the heat off in a few more months lol. _________________ How would I fit a t4 turbo to my computer... hmmm |

the prob lies at your room temp ..
what you need is a proper air flow and your done :) ..
do check if there is any software hogging your CPU handle ..
coz 34deg is still way too high ..
my room temp is around 25 - 30 ..

Also, tidying your cables will improve airflow and hence drop the temps a bit. _________________ Phenom II x4 955 @ Stock

all my cables are tidied, and neat, i would post pics but i dont have a digicam. thre is nothing unusual running the background. my temps are hanging around the 47cpu and 32-33'C case. seems to be the best i can do. Im still sweating my balls off with patio open, and my thermometer reads just over 34'C. _________________ How would I fit a t4 turbo to my computer... hmmm |
