What I did was go to my local Electronics store and picked up a small project box for around $2. and put in front usb heads from an old 5.25 bay, wired it up from one of my front usb headers in my mobo, and then wired in my logitec wireless keyboard and mouse reciever. I used velcro to attach the reciever to the project box. Now I have 1 more usb port on the back of my computer and not to mention not having to place the reviever somewhere on my desk or computer!

| Have you tried it through a window ( ex. like on my case) you'd think that it would go through just fine. |

Im doubting it....my desk has a little section below the top...i put the sensor in there (physically only about 40 cm away from keybaord and mouse) But not all key storkes are detected. _________________ »4 RS«»1Ж «»1 DENE«»1 FREAKIN LAME OH«»1 MONEY MONEY«

It's to bad that they don't make this model anymore. It's really nice i've had it for almost 4 years. |

pretty cool looking. I wish I bought a side window case when I was shopping it looks so cool. I don't think the picture does the case justice as the light didn't show up well.

I bought my case before case windows were ever out. I upgraded to that about a year ago, really cheap to buy or to do yourself. |

I think that the issue of obstructions is also related to the age of the technolgy of the wireless keyboard/mouse setup. I have a Microsoft InteliMouse Explorer 2.0 and I have zero problem with obstrucitions. As a matter of fact, my receiver is buried under assorted cd's, papers, parts, and whatever other s*** is on my desk. I'd post a picture, but YOU CAN'T SEE THE RECEIVER.
Hoedizzy, how about shootin us some daylight pictures? I wanna see what's goin on. What exactly did you need that project enclosure for? Just to hide wires?

I am confused. What exactly were you thanking him for?

Yeah, the Logitech seems to work fine through most objects, like a desktop. My keyboard sits on a tray, the transmitter in the keyboard is actually slightly under the desktop, while the reciever sits on a shelf a few inches above the desktop, but all the way in the back. Two nice, thick layers of quasi-wood in between the keyboard/mouse and reciever, and it works just fine. Oddly, the only thing that's ever affected it was having one of my vocal condensers between the mouse and the reciever..........then, the mouse got all jerky, and keystrokes dropped. Wierd, probably the 48v power to the mic causing some problems.
Just a quick question, though.........how do you charge the mouse? Or is your Logitech different from mine.........the reciever is also the mouse charging cradle. Would be sortof a pain to open the case just to plug the rodent in for the night. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

FNF, actually, only one or two models of logitec mice have a rechargeable cradle. I believe that Hoe's setup predates all of that. I know the MX700 for sure an maybe a newer model or 2 have the cradle of which you speak. _________________ |¤| |

Sally is right my Logitec predates the Duo MX, mine is the Logitec cordless Duo.
That project box holds the usb header out of a old front mount 5.25 bay usb. (Didn't want the bear header gounding out in the case!) I have it mounted in the box with one hole for the usb connector into the header, and another hole out to the pin header in the mobo. |

Ah yeah, after I posted that, and took a nap, I realized that the older ones didn't recharge the same way. Now, what would be cool, is to somehow mount the newer MX700 style reciever/charger in a custom pocket on the side of the machine, so when you carried it to LAN parties, drop the mouse in, snap it in place somehow, and tote it that way.........hm.............. _________________ Big enough to scare you |
