I have a Packer Bell Computer that has a maxtor HD, I have ran diagonstics and both the HD and memory is fine. However, when I try to boot i get the following message:
"While inintializing device IOS: ERROR: An I/O subsystem driver failed to load. Either a file in the .\iosubsys subdirectory is corrupt, or the system is low on memory."
When I upplug the cable from the HD I get "operating system not found". What can I do to fix this problem so I can get the computer to boot and run properly??

If your system isn't booting its not because of a lack of memory if it just started doing this. You could have a virus, or a file could very well be corrupt, the easiest and simplest way to go about dealing with this is to boot from a cd, format the hd, and install windows, that will eliminate any software issue.
Of course when you unplug the hard-drive it says "operating system not found" what did you think it would say, "Loading Windows XP Home Edition" _________________ If I was to be any letter in the alphabet, I would be 12 |

Yep, the system has a corrupt driver and/or registry and is not the fault of the HD.
Do a freash install with the CD that comes with the computer, or install a different on if you want. _________________ Owner & Administrator
