audigy 2 zs Gamer

Just picked up the Audigy 2 zs Gamer sound card. Also got the Zalman surround sound headphones .

I play ALOT of games but my question is some of my clanmates use theses headphones with the 5.1 settings and others with the headphones setting. Which would give me the better experence and overall performance?

If you have them, then why not just try both settings out and see which one you prefer? Only you can tell what you like.

Is there any real difference in the soundcards in the zs and the gamer edition?

Not at all. Just get a software package with 5 games in it. tomb raider, Jedi acadey 2, halio, splinter cell, and Rainbow six :Ravin sheild.

Yeah, they're all the same. Even the Platinum Edition is the same, that one just comes with the lame breakout box.

I agree, try both settings......I've heard both good and bad about the 5.1 setting. For what it's worth, I tried them, and didn't really care for either setting. The 5.1 setting was "echo-ey", and the headphone setting lacked depth. They're ok 'phones, far better than the usual suspects, but not as good as a great pair of stereo 'phones.

See which setting rocks your world, play with the EQ settings on your Audigy, and roll with them.
