This was on my friend's computer, and he needed help. This was what he said:
"Tonight something called HPSdpApp.exe (HP SDP Application Module) keeps trying to access the net. I did a Google search and got no matches on it. I searched the HP site and my ISP's site for this thing, with no matches at all. I searched my own computer's help files, with no results. If it was a virus, I'd think it'd come up *somewhere*...

With this HPSdpApp.exe request for access comes an IE-like window. It has 'Reminder (time)' at the top, with the current time/date for (time), but fails to connect to a server. Also, there's no way to close that window, even through right-clicking on the task bar.

This feels like a virus, but I've also had odd things related to my ISP like this. Even if it's something HP or ISP related, I'd think there would be something about it on Google... "

I searched on Google as well, and the only thing that showed up was my friend's message. Hopefully, this image works:

thanks in advance,

it's not a virus but one of those dumb programs that hinders HP's computer from performing well.

Uninstall all the HP crap you don't need.

Yeah I figured it wasn't a virus, especially since it says "reminder" on top of the window. I told him to go open regedit, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, and delete the hpsdpapp.exe run key then reboot.. Hopefully that works.

Thanks.

I had the same issue on a PC getting the reminder. I thought HP was reminding me to create backup disks. I checked the HP site and found out this was related to Easy Internet sign-up. Here is a link to a page on the HP site explaining how to delete the message:

You can also search HP for: hpsdpapp reminder to get to this page
