There really isn't a good backup.......thank the "pirates"........
Easiest way to do it, is to use CloneCD or Alcohol.....I've had the best luck with CloneCD. Problem is, your backup copies don't have the safeguard software in them. Simple fix.........assuming you own the game.
Go get the no-cd patch for the game.
That's what I do.......I buy the game, burn an image to my hard drive, then use the no-cd patch, while the CD I paid $50 or so for sits quietly and safely in its case. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

Do you get errors burning other cds? Or is it just with games? Also are you getting the error in while burning the game, or after your done and your trying to use the copy? _________________ Love Is Not Enough... |

That's the copy protection. SafeDisk writes "bad sectors" to a CD, more or less.....they're not really bad, but any burning program will see them as such. SafeDisk allows those sectors to be read off of the retail CD, but not off a burned image.
Try looking for the older version of ClonyXXL. The new versions will tell you what protection is used, but won't configure CloneCD to actually burn them.....the older versions do.
Of course, this is assuming you DO really own the games, right? I have no problems with making copies for backup. You ever seen what a 10 year old can do to a game CD? _________________ Big enough to scare you |
