Mechwarrior 2 on xp.....

i have been doing extensive research on this problem......MW2 doesnt supprt NT file systems......

so anyway...i ran it in compatability mode (i think) and it still wont workk.....it just doesnt start.......any ideas?

yea, it does the same thing for aliens versus predator, the origional one... it kinda pisses me off, i liked that game

TH....try making an itsy bitsy...lets say 300mb partition of fat32. Go to command prompt and load it dos mode in a window. Of course you probably won't have sound...cause the game ran soundblsater compat mode and prolly won't talk to your sound. I could make you a deal on a Pentium classic 166 or such...I'm sure I got most all the stuff to build one. Or go buy the playstation or sega version on some clearance rack somewhere.

no i have couple other crappy systems i can install it on....but i dont have a copy of win98 or anything.......im not sure if its the file system it doesnt support....or the NT OS

I here ya...couple of old games that don't play on modern systems. Like I said the sound is one issue. But this was a DOS and Win95 game, so I thought a quick command prompt might give a clue.
So load it on an old system...lots of people can get you a win 95 or 98 to load...cause they sure ain't using them.

yeah man....it wont run on 2000......i have tried multpile times...and in multiple different configs......and i dont think the audio will be too much of a problem.....it has CD audio......

actually i listen to the soundtrack quite often....=]

it sucks that fairly old games won't work with xp nor 2000... i would try to install those good old reader rabbit games for my sister, won't work.

I tried to run mechwarrior 2 a while ago and found it didnt work too

also my old C&C Red Alert wouldnt run either
