can anyone help? i run adaware which finds at least 250 critical items to delete, then i run spybot which finds a bit more. even after all that my compy has pop ups like crazy and audio ads "popping up"...anyway, one of the critical items was the worm/agobot.10496 -- any suggestions? i am not a computer geek, i'm just related to one so i may need baby steps...

http://vil.nai.com/vil/averttools.asp

go to this site....download Stinger (mcAffee) ....turn off system restore. Reboot computer into safe mode (f8 while it boots up) run stinger....then run adaware or similar. Then go back into regular mode, and get your latest virus definitions.

Ok, go to Windows Explorer

Go to the windows directory, then the downloaded programs directory.

Erase everything there.

I would also google for AVG from grisoft. its a free (and small) antivirus utility that works great.

Yup yup...with updates that take about 10 seconds to download and install and it doesnt hog the memory or CPU unless YOU decide to do a full scan. I dont think you can go wrong with it really.
