Hey all
What are your thoughts on putting a heatsink on the southbridge?
Worth it or not?...
I have no idea if the southbridge even generates any noticeable heat and thus if putting a heatsink on it would improve stability slightly when overclocking?? _________________ Opteron170 @ 2.8 Ghz - NexXxoS XP AMD64, NexXxoS NVXP-3, NexXxoS NB-SLI1 Northbridge

On NF2 boards a HSF on ther heatsink is worth it however you have Canterwood. Personally I have a HS of a RivaTNT 2 with AS3 underneath and a 40mm fan sitting on top.
Brandon, Swiftech have just released some nice NB Heatsinks, check out swiftnets.com , aircooling, the MCX159 series

That northbridge cooler looks nice....but ack.....$36?!
I wish someone would make a mini copper skivved heatsink/fan for the northbridge....kinda like the Volcano 7+. That swiftech one is overkill....but i bet it works well. _________________ TestOC PC

True, it is an overkill and the thickness of the copper base may actually hamper the heat disappation potential for the heatsink.
Too thick of a base can create heat capacitance and the ability to NOT transfer the heat properly. _________________ Owner & Administrator
