Whats your opinion on this board? I know everyone here seems to love the Abit IC7 (probably with good reason) but i can get the Asus local for bout the same price as the Abit (includin shipping). What do all you think of it, ive read a few reviews on the net and the only problems people have has with it are small layout problems and all the extra bios stuff they put onto it that makes the load a little bit slower. Ive also heard that its pretty good for overclocking too, some guy pushed a P4 2.4 up to 3.6 without much trouble besides cooling.

So, what do you think of the Asus P4P800 Deluxe?

or the DFI lanparty pro875

both seems to be solid overclockers with decent prices.

Well, I can only really tell you what I know but from what I have been seeing lately, the BIOS on the P4C800 is a little too complicated for advanced overclocking due to its AI features which I think are catering too the people that want a quick way to overclock rather than doing it properly.

You'll be happy. Just buy some really good memory.

Corsair is my choice.

Sure or if you have the money, buy the more expensive PC3700 or PC4000 TwinX dual channel kits.

No, you should be fine, just insert them in the proper slots for dual channel setup and they should work.

Now the funny thing here is, why did you buy them first and THEN ask if they would work?

oh..i only ask if Im able to use this ram FOR building and overclocking a new p4 system.....the reason why I ask about these is because I already bought them awhile back and have them running in my athlon system which i am running right now ...im going to the computer fair this weekend at the fairplex in pomona, Most likely gonna pick up the ABIT IC7-G MAX II w/ 2.4c chip...
will let you know when i got the parts and start putting it together....cant wait...

ummm - ok i said i would buy the Abit IC7 becuase most people said it didnt have any problems, but i went to this site wanting to learn more bout ram and it said that the Abit board cant run or has troubles with running with dividers set to 5:4 or 3:2... is this a problem for me - because i want to know before i buy it...

here is the page that concerned me: http://www.ocaddiction.com/articles/misc/memory_bandwidth/pg2.shtml

that bit about Abit boards is near the bottom
