PC Speakers

I am just looking for some advice about computer speakers. Right now I have just the standard pc speakers but I want to upgrade. The main use will be for listening to music and potentially watching movies. I have been looking at Logitech speakers, but do I need 2.1 or possibly 5.1? Where is the best place to buy new speakers? I need help a quick.

The first thing to do is check to see what your mobo/soundcard will support.
Then install latest drivers. Then, start looking at reviews (http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/reviewindex/sound.php is a great place to start). When you find what you want PRICEGRABBER (link near top of page) is an excellent tool to find a reliable retailer at a reasonable cost.
A trip to a local supplier will let you hear the speakers.
