I have a used Athlon with a bad cpu foot (the rubber spongy things).
I would like to install my heatsink and fan without damaging the CPU.
Since the four rubber spongy things are all most gone, what is the best way to attach the heatsink and prevent damage to my CPU ? |

I suggest two options
1) attempt to get new rubber feet
2) look into getting a cpu shim for your processor
You should be able to find a shim at just about any retailer. This will do the job that a larger core or that the rubber feet would do. _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

^^ good advice. Whatever you do, be careful not to chip your core. _________________ Phenom II x4 955 @ Stock

Where can I get new rubber feet from ? I have searched and have not found any.
I stopped by the local CompUSA store and they had no shimms so I will have to order that one over the internet. |

The shim might be the only way to go. You might be able to find some rubber feet at a local computer or electronics store - one of those smaller ones with the 'little' guys running it. _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |
