Hello. I own the Logitech Z-2200 2.1 system and have it connected to a PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube. I have heard the system attached to a computer and in comparison trials to connection to game console, found the subwoofer was only working at about half capacity even when bass level was at it's highest setting.
I intend to purchase the Z-5500 reviewed and will connect my game consoles with digital optical cables.
I would like to know if the same subwoofer issue I have with the Z-2200 will happen. Please attempt a comparison trial of the system connected to a computer vs console if you have not already done so.
Thank you. |

Post in the right section, mate.
I'm afraid we'll have to call in the Super Police Squadron on this one, i.e. the mods to move this.
Welcome to TN! Hopefully someone will be able to help you out in due course. Come back soon! _________________

Moved. Please post your questions in the appropriate section from now on.
I never heard of the subwoofer problem you are talking about. Seems to me that would be a console problem and not the fault of the speaker system.
The Z-5500 has not subwoofer volume problems. Trust me, they will blow your mind. _________________ Owner & Administrator

Sounds wierd to me. It does sound like a console problem, rather than a speaker one, though. Was there an adapter included to connect the analog console outputs to the 1/8" plug on the speakers? That might be your problem....if that connector is broken, or wired out of phase, you'll have sound issues. Try going to Radio Shack and buying another one for a few bucks, and see if that helps.
On the optical end, you'll have no problems. _________________ Big enough to scare you |
