Stuck? I'll be glad to help. So far I count 2 walkthroughs online and they are both pretty deplorable. I noticed a massive thread with several people who were stuck but if there's any more problems I love helping people out in this respect.
I beat HL2 in about 3 days and I just finished beating it again on hard, and I didn't even have to piss my professors off and skip class! _________________ DTW

The game was quite addicting. Though I really didn't care for "We Don't Go to Ravenholm." The scare tactics were a little old seeing is how I beat Doom3 a couple of weeks prior. Not to mention the fact that I HATE headcrabs. Especially the black ones (I think they're called headhunters) that bring you're health down to 1 for a few seconds. I found the best parts of the game were those when you fight the combine. They're smarter and more entertaining. Zombies, headcrabs, and aliens really don't interest me in HL - I'll play Doom3 for 10 minutes for that.
Doom3, btw was massively lame after you beat the first 3 levels. And yes, I'm now expecting massive flaming from everyone for saying that. _________________ DTW

only thing i didn't like about HL 2 was the "Follow Freeman" with all those "Squad Members" following they seemed to get in the way a lot in hallways, I got so frustrated that I emptied a whole clip into them, Friendly-Fire would be good here _________________ Yeah....... ok |

HEAR HEAR. I got frustrated so told them to go to a spot and threw a nade there. The problem went away . . . for a little while . . .
And doom3 was a major dissapointment. I don't think i got 1/2 way through the game before quitting. it was just too repetative =[ _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

I'm only on the 4th level and I am getting bored already. One imp poping up can give you a fright, 50 and it starts to get annoying. They could have been a bit more origional. (doom3 btw) _________________ Phenom II x4 955 @ Stock

Well I'm glad some other gamers dont buy the absolute BS that is circulating most gaming ezines. It's really pretty annoying to see these self-proclaimed "game critics" declare how amazingly better Doom3 is than every other FPS ever. For a REAL review of Doom3, I'll have to shamelessly plug:
http://www.wargamer.com/reviews/doom_3/
I think I gave Doom3 what was coming to it.
As for Follow Freeman... I thought that was the best chapter of that game, maybe it ties with the last level - which was also insanely fun with the gravity gun madness. Any time I was fighting combine - ESPECIALLY in chaotic settings with battle going on all around and Striders blowing buildings to pieces, I was thoroughly elated. _________________ DTW

Okay, I finally finished HL2 (I do have a life) so now I can state my opinion....Pretty good.
Okay, okay....Doom3 and Half Life 2 are both true to their respective originals. I loved Doom, I loved Doom 2, it felt good to have the old shotgun again.
I loved Half Life, and it felt good to bust a few crates again. But that is it, I mean they are just extensions of the originals. They are just games, right?
Most importantly....we have new engines, updated for new hardware, that we will be using for several years to come.
I loaded the original Half Life last weekend on a p3 1.2G w/Gforce3. The game doesn't even phase it. That hardware is way above the needs....but I remember when it came out...last century and it would stress some hardware.
Moral of the story...we are going to live with these game engines for awhile, I hope some good stuff comes from them. The hardware requirements will look silly in three years.
Time will only tell if they live up to my all time favorite game....UT _________________ .

the Follow Freeman levels were absolutely Great, My beef was with the squad getting in the way, I Loved the Citadel part, with the gravity gun, but it wasn't all that much of a challenge, even on "Hard". that "Zero-Point-Energy-Field-Manipulator" put a HURTIN on the Combine _________________ Yeah....... ok |

Yep....in Follow Freeman, my squad helped out more by dieing and leaving their ammo than anything else...reminded me of our dog, who I sometimes call "Mr. Underfoot." _________________ .

Hey 2old, by UT do you mean Unreal Tornament 1, That game kicks ass, I still play it when I want to run arround wildly killin stuff
Crank it to full res and max detail and it don't look too bad. UT was a classic and is still one of my favorite net games. _________________ Phenom II x4 955 @ Stock
