NEED YOUR HELP GUYS

If anyone notices anyone weird or something strange happening to TN like a different admin coming in, please let me know ASAP.

I have since found out that a couple members saw weird things but didn't have the right mind to contact me.

IF YOU SEE SOMETHING WEIRD, REPORT IT, DON'T JUST SIT THERE!!!!!

I was'nt too sure what would happen if your e-mail was used, [ToMeR] was using your login (admin) and changing the name (but all your post remained as evidence it was your login). Didn't want to "help" that guy out in any way.

Maybe you should set up a throw-away hotmail address to e-mail you, just so we can be sure you will get it.

yeah i posted about this in dear admin, dont think anyone saw it. did they get just the email or the whole site? Might be good to call the company that hosts your site.

The members are frustrated as to why this guy did this to a helpful forum.

Don't worry, Ham_fisT is not mad at you personally, they are all pissed at the guy that did it.

Dont know if any of you noticed, but, he spelt ISRAEL wrong! If you are goin to do a job, do it right!

Just that says it all really.

Me being one of the members who noticed that admin log in, but i saw it as peer, then ToMeR, so i assumed it was Peer checking up on the place as he does so every few months. I obviously feel a bit $hit about it...but what done is done, and we must hope to be more vigilante from now on, and remember that not everyone is as helpful as people here...but quite the opposite.

Its a shame that people stoop to low levels like this, but they do, so DONT GIVE THEM AN EASY TIME!

You know, it occoured to me to google that guy's name, but I did'nt find that site, just a lot of non related stuff. I didn't catch on about the "Isreal" thing being his REAL handle, I was looking up "ToMeR", I did'nt try too hard though, I figured he'd follow the basic rules, rule 4 of hacking is "don't use your real handle in public", rule number one being "dont hack from home.....

Looks like we *might* just stand a chance to get this guy.

Nate has backups, but it will take him a while to get them in place.

I know this may be a lame suggestion and prolly won't be received very well since we all love TN but maybe it would be a good idea to stop posting and close down the forums for a couple of days so that no new content is posted allowing easier merging of the old and new databases to 'restore' TN to it's former glory?

What do you think?

Nate already pointed out that he can't do a simple "restore" from the archive, because it will remove all the posts that came AFTER the archive was made. He's gona update the database a little at a time manually.

All this troubble because of one wanabe hacker who had a brain fart and followed through.

Hey Nate, if there is ANYTHING any of us can do to help you out let us know, I'm sure I speak for everybody here when I say we want to help get this sorted.
