It should work, but working with those wires is an absolute b!tch if you aren't used to them. You can always put another end on the cable if you needed to do so.
If you could, i'd try to get an extension and another cable. Otherwise, maybe use your hub. _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

get one of them rj45 to rj45 thru connector jobbies...you know they're usually tan....they get a couple of bucks for them....then just put another cat 5 patch to it.
Or do it like your thinking... it won't effect you speed on such a short distance. _________________ .

Experiment. As long as you have enough cable to play with, you are ok. You shouldn't use up any more than 5ft of calbe trying to put the new ends on right =P. It doesn't matter what order the wires are as long as they are the same on each end. Usually its Orange Orange/white Green Blue Blue/white Green/white brown brown/white.
IT DOES VARY. Look carefully at your end of teh cable. _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

for starters hoe, its SOLDER, not SODER!!!!! "Soder" would be one who sod's?
Just kidding.
We both know buying a coupler locally would be grounds for anal violation....they are like $8 just for the connector. I'd say order one or go to WINTRONIC on Dace street and have them make you a cross-over cable.... _________________ |¤| |
