Alright, I decided to start a little thread for helps and hints in HL2. If its anything like the first, you may find yourself lost with no place to go.

I'll be first. Has anyone gotten to the electrified fence after you get the grav gun? I can't seem to turn the power off or get over the fence. Anyone get passed this yet?[/b]

I am stuck and am now very irritated!

I am at the part in the sewers/tunnels after you finally get a machine gun. You are in the tunnels and there are about 8 or 9 of those head chopper helicopter damn things. I shot all them now there are like 8 barrels there and the only way to get anywhere else, I believe is by moving them around to jump onto them to get to the next room. Did that, got too next room and it is a long barred wall with water at the bottom. You can see the other side has the same thing but with a door to go through. I back to the original room and below the floor is a watered area with a tunnel opening that goes to the next room. Pushed all the barrels in the water FINALLY organized them so I can use them to jump. Got to next room and you climb up the ladder onto a ledge. It looks like you are suppose to jump across but I can't make it. After 1/2 hour I gave up. What do I do??? Please help. If you are confused as to what area I am talking bout say so and I will take a screen shot later.

I THINK i know what you are talking about. When you go into the next room with the water in it, on one of the pipes, you will see a big valve. Turn that valve on. Water will fill that room. Go back out into the room with all the head chopper things and barrels. Take a deep breath. Go down that ladder and through the hole in the grated floor. swim through that big hole in the wall and you'll get to the next room. At the bottom of that room are big spools that you need to get from the bottom of the water. Use the crowbar to break them loose.

This game is absolutely sweet! The cool thing about it is that you have to use objects in your surroundings so much. Sometimes you get annoyed cuase your not use to it. But this game kicks arse! I seem to get stuck on things that are petty little details....i.e: turning the whell on a pipe!

i was stcuk at a part where you gotta run across a sand that has these creatures forgot what they are called anyways you use the gravity gun to build a path out of crates and metal and other stuff above the sand, now what kind of game could allow you to do that? not a single other game can, WOOT go HL2

Yeah, the environment is absolutely terrific. Plus, the guards in the beggining are very fun to throw stuff at. Throw a can, run away, pick up the can again. As soon as he turns around to get back to his post, throw the can again. ITS A RIOT!

Now he is telling me to meet him at the church! I though I was going the right way on all these stupid roofs and he said what are you doing, go to the church! Where do I go and how do I get there? im at the part where i just got the .357 magnum, lovely gun by the way, lays any man horizontal with ease. I haven't really been stuck, but I love this game, I always take the time to see what kind of crazy crap i can play with before i move on, and i must say this is without doubt the best game i have ever seen.

I'm afraid I've been having computer problems in the last three days (I never knew that changing the PSU can corrupt your BIOS and your Windows installation, which means re-installing HL2 on a different OS) and I've gone home for the weekend for a break (those lectures are getting boring) so I've kinda stopped playing, but can't wait to get back!
I got stuck and a few places, but generally managed to get passed them quite quickly.

Im stuck in thw Raven something town, where I think im supose to follow the guy with a shotgun.. I have gotten to the part were it is 2 cars that i can flip a switch and they go down.. I dont really know were I´am supose to go from there.. Anyone know what I can do?

Ah yes, you need to make the second car fall down. Quickly jump on top while it goes back up. There is a path to follow up above.

Its sooo much fun to see what kind of crazy crap you can do in this game. When you get the rocket launcher, you can make the rocket do dozens of loops in the air.

Try this - Set up a barrel in front of you. Shoot the rocket at a 45 degree angle above the horizon. Crouch and point the laser at the barrel. Its a riot to see the rocket coming right at you.
