anyone see the new G5?
If only it wasn't a mac....(no games... otherwise they are great machines)

Now I'ld love to have the case though (wouldn't mind having the 1ghz FSB and the 4gigs ram either)

http://www.apple.com/powermac/design.html
The silver things with G5 written on them are the cpu heatsinks and not PSU's like I thought when i first saw it... The psu is at the bottom of the case.

Now that got me thinking though... Why the hell don't i compartamentalize my Case

top zone would be PSU
middle zone would be HD and CPU heatsink
Bottom would be video card...

now for the CPU & northbridge fans... a tube from the sidepanal (fan on bothends.... and for the memory... surround them with plexiglass and create a tunnel going to the top of the case (a top fan) the intake will be done through a tube on the side and directed by a fan into the tunnel.....

so that you have
----------------\ /-----
-----------------I I------ <------
O I I <-------
O oI I <---------
--------------------------<-----------

---------------------------
and so on.....
Just creating wind tunnels.....
hmm maybe add a model airplane or something on the inside

hmm maybe have a front panel like the botttom of the case found at

Good idea though.

i thought about combining the two designs of a modern windows desktop with the new g5...i drew something up in class...wish my scanner would work so i can show you...but anyways, it just combines the idea of rearranging the insides of a modded desktop so that it looks and functions like the case of the g5, i.e: having "tunnels" that suck air from the front and indepently cool each major part of the computer...the new g5 design is awesome, wish our cooling systems were a lil neater and more efficent =)

The G5 has a cusom motherboard built for that design. You could do some fance duck work on a computer. If you have a store near by that is good with plastic you could use clear plastic to do it.
