Is it possible(or a good idea) to vent heat directly off the CPU heatssink/ or vice versa by letting air be vented to the heatsink directly to the outside of the case??

also it must be done on a 60mm fan, or some kind of mod that will allow a different size fan to fit on my 60mm attachment for my heatsink which i dont think really exists.

lata!

There are so called "ducting" kits where it moves the fan away from the heatesink nsno that it doesn't creat e a deadspot directly inside of the heatsink... Dan's data did a review of it... but I don't believe that it helped that much.

There are ducting kits that let you vent the air right off the heatsink to the outside via ducting material you can find in a hardware store.

The kits cost like $20 I think. Or you could go to a hardware store, buy flexible air ducting material and do it yourself.

And yes, there are 60-80mm adapters available.

If I were you, I would get a list of online mod stores and case modding sites and start visiting them.

Aha! Perfect, now that will definitely help the cpu temps.

Direct in and out will always work better. New fresh air will cool the cpu better and ducting right out will stop the cpu from heating up the inside of your case.
