|
|
Hi,
My pc is running on win2k which recently suffered some damages after some (bad) overclocking experiences.
The Windows Installer stopped responding and some other applications, like Norton Antivirus don't work properly.
I have tried to download a new Windows Installer from Microsoft.com but... it doesn't install.
Since the Windows Installer does not work, I can't even uninstall Norton Antivirus and install it again.
I would like to prevent to install the OS from scratch and all my software.
Does someone have an idea of how to repair this Windows Installer problem?
I thank you in advance.

I have some bad news for you.
You best reinstall the whole system or you could loose everything on your computer soon.
Besides, it's best to do that every once in a while anyways. _________________ Owner & Administrator

Hi Nathan,
thank you for your reply.
"You best reinstall the whole system or you could loose everything on your computer soon. "
Is there any reason for this to happen or do you say it based on experience?
Reinstall everything is exactly what I did not want to read!!
Thanks anyway.

With a corupted system, you will basicly see more and more problems and one time you will boot up and your system will not load windows. I'm saying this from experience.
So before you have this happen to you, backup all your data and do a complete install.
Sorry if you don't like what I'm telling you but it's the smart thing to do.
Why would you like to stick with a corrupt version of windows on your comp?
Do a fresh install and clean out all the bugs and enjoy your system to it's full extent. _________________ Owner & Administrator
