to be a good game host you need more upload. At least 512K for about 4 players. But it can differ with the different games as the net code sets how much bandwidth is needed.

True, it's the upload speed that counts (for a server) but we can still try, if u guys want.

I've hosted a game of 6 on ET without much problem, but yeah upload REALLY counts.

Maybe we can find an empty server somewhere. We just need more people.

Its certainley worth a shot...i would gladly host, but my max upload is only 30Kb/sec

I hope its not 30Kbps, I hope its more along the lines of 30KBps. bits/bytes. huge difference.

Exactly. Should we try a dedicated server if there are only 4 of us? If that doesn't work well, i'm sure we can find an abandoned server to play on. Just make sure everyone is up to date and practiced up so we all have the right maps.

The latest main update should be on the first page here. 1.02 i think. So far Zhenya has the fastest connection at 256Kbps and I am second with 32KBps. So PWNED. I think we are pretty much tied all the way around.

Hehehe, we have the same upload. 256kbps and 32KBps. I didn't think i made it that confusing.

Upload is 3Megabits/second ~ 375KB/s
I can make a dedicated server with my work rig. It should fare pretty well.

Sometimes I just wanna make sure that the other party I'm talking to hasn't got confused with bits and bytes.

Upload is 256kilobit.
I'll go ahead and get everything set up for a game at about 1600 CST on saturday. Maybe even before that so we can play around.
