looking for a few experinces here....
I personally have had success with my Enermax units thus far.
Has anyone used the Vantec brand? I am seeing the Vantec 520W (VAN-520A) for just over 100.00 these days...it's aluminum and "silent".

I would just like to see if others are sticking with the stock PS that comes with some cases...or are you having good experinces with others?
Pros an cons to yours would be nice.....neatness features etc.

All brands considered....

I will be powering an AMD rig with TEC/CCD/2HDD/CD/4fans (that's a close enuf to what will really be in there)

All I will go with is the Vantec or Enermax models. Not too many others.

Also, I personally think the Vantec Stealth is just a marketing ploy. Really, how loud is a PSU anyways.

I'd rather have it running normally and be cooled properly.

I run Antecs without any problems. They're expensive though, so I pretty much get it with the case or I don't get it at all.

If I had to buy just the powersupply, I'd go with Vantec or Enermax.

As an FYI...I did a little more research into the two PS mentioned above.....

The Enermax EG651P-VE can be found for 110.00 and the ratings are as follows:
Quote:

Model No. EG651P-VE FMA
Reg. Output current rating
Min. / Max.
+3.3V 50mV ±4% 0.3A / 36A
+5V 50mV ±5% 0.3A / 36A
+12V 120mV ±5% 1.5A / 36A
-5V 50mV ±10% 0A / 1A
-12V 120mV ±10% 0A / 1A
+5Vsb 50mV ±5% 0.1A / 2.2A
+3.3V & +5V 200W
TOTAL O/P 550W

and the Vantec 520W (VAN-520A) for the same price are as follows:
Quote:

DC Output: 520Watts Total: +5V/0~52A, +12V/0~28A, +3.3V/0~26A, -5V/0~0.8A, -12V/0~1.0A, +5VSB/0~2.5A.
Max Combined Wattage: +3.3V~+5V: 260W; +12V: 336W; -12V: 12W; -5V: 4W; +5VSB: 12.5W.

So, if your in the market for a 500W~550W PS...these would be two possibilities, and the Vantec is aluminum which would nice for cooling...but the extra amps from the Enermax are nice as well, when looking at the many lights and accessories we like to add today.......each have other little apsects to them that might appeal to you, so do a little digging.
