Pretty nice! :)

I definately would have painted the drives silver, or gotten some of the fancy new lian li stealth bays:

They might be a bit plain for your case front though, it's a lot busier looking than mine.

Good mods :)

yes i do admit the case is stunning and very nice but i have a few things to say and a few q's. things to say:
1.your soldering looks like someone with silver crap took a dump on the bare ends of the wires.
2.it doe look kind of stupid from the out side cause there is such a thing as too much blue, like maybe lossing one cold cathode tube.....etc
anyway on to questions:
1. did you just phone the companys and say what you were doing and if they 'lent' you their products you would put in a good word for them and trht cause i don't get how works?

Remember guys, this was not my work. This was the great work of the new hardware reviewer and the latest addition to the Tweaknews staff, Dave Crandall.

He deserves all the credit for this case. What a nice job.

Well to respond to your comments, I admit that the soldering does look like crap, although the connections were made, and the soldering was covered up, so its not a really big deal... 2. That is why I put switches on the front of the case, so If I want to, I can tone down the blue...

As for the question, I founded and was a big part of RevewNation.com before it went under, so I knew all of those sponsors very well... I would emial my contacts there and ask if they would donate or cut me deals on items I needed from them in exchange for menionting them in the article, which I did. Having a good relationship with sponsors pays off pretty well! :)

mrplow: I had thought about silver drives or useing the new lian li stealth bays, but I thought that painting them black gave the case a little more character and made it so its not all silver and blue...

Nathan: Thanks for giving me credit, where credit is due. Haha, but my last name is spelled Crandall, not Crandell

I'm really not impressed with your negative tone to your post. Perhaps you could show something that you have accomplished. Please post a picture here.
The soldering job he did was completely fine for a first timer and who cares, it was covered up.

The items you seem to be bringing up could be labeled as full out "nit-picking" and ignoring the complete effort that was invested in this mod.

looks good v0id. and i agree, so long as the soldering works and is covered up, who cares.
you did a fine job cramming as much as possible into that case!
lol.

i've got a new pc75, and had many similar thoughts as you in regards to design.
well done.

That case gives me a lot of ho-pe for my first mod *crosses fingers* Some day... *L* All though I did just order a couple of fans from Xoxide because my ats are oming to regard my computer case as a nice warm place to sit.

Although I did haev a minor question... I noticed you re-riveted the top of the case to the frame. Whyu did you choose to do it that way instead of putting in screws?

I think that sounds more smart-ass than I want it to but that's not the tone I'm trying for.

Just because it was riveted in the first place, so I figured i'd re-revit it... No special reason... :)

I like it, I even looked at your work and got some ideas myself. I focused on making the wires look nice in my case too, but I didnt use any sleeving. Maybe I'll get some, it looks great and Im sure these pictures dont give it justice.

Maybe I'll post some pics of my box when Im happy with it

Hi, moders! I just had to register so I could comment on this fantastic case and ask you a question:

a) Great job!

b) Something you haven't mentioned yet- Got any ideas on the rest of the set-up (Keyboard / mouse / monitor(s), periferals), maybe one of those glowing keyboards (I think they're blue, too).

I myself was thinking that I might buy another 'puter for the family and "customize" our year-old Pentium 4 / WinXP just for kicks (Works great, but everybody has a profile on it. I want my own PERSONAL rig, if you know what I mean). That's why this site caught my interest. So if you all don't mind, I'd like to drop in once in a while to get any scoop you might be kind enough to let me in on.

Nice meeting ya![/i]

I would do other stuff, but I love my logitech cordless freedom set... haha I have one of those glowing keyboards, but i dont like typing on it much... paintin a monitor can b very dangerous, and i spent a lot of money on my new Sony 19", so i dont wanna break that... not really worth it IMHO :) But thanks for the compliments, let me know if you have any questions when doin ur project...

I too got some great ideas for my new case from BLUE ICE, and would really like to compliment on the tidyness of the wires as I know mine (and everybody elses) are a total mess which looks like something out of an italian restaurant I also liked the blueness of it which i think looks kool through the fans at the front and on top. The only thing i would have to disagree on was the fan on the side window (don't ask why, I just have a thing against them :S ) Keep up the great work V0id and enjoy your case
