Memory question

Great forums here. Been reading a while but this is my first post :)

I am getting a 2.4C and Asus P4C800-E deluxe, and I am having a really hard time deciding on memory. I want to overclock on just air, so all I really want is to have memory headroom to overclock the FSB to 290 (I doubt I'll get past 275, but I will want to play around :)).

This means if I use PC3200, I'll have to use 3:2 ratio. For PC3500, I can use a tighter 4:3 and get 289.33, close enough. If I use PC3700, I can use 5:4.

As far as I can see, latency is the only difference. I can get my target overclock with all three, but latencies will vary. How much of a difference will there be from 3:2 and 5:4 in terms of performance?

I've settled on PC3200. Still, I'd be curious to see what you guys think about the question I posed.

The lower the number, the faster the memory timings.

If you are overclocking, try to raise the numbers to their highest. aka 3-4-4-8
