you can HEAR the light go off? =P

anyway, it could be both.....first i would check for spyware and viruses, eliminate that from the troubleshooting.......next........do you have any shceduled maintenance program running, as in, is it every night at the same time.......??

ok since your computer is restarting every night there maybe a hardware issue of driver issue. The first thing we need to do is stop the automatic restart feature.
Right click "my computer">>>>properties>>>>advanced>>>>>startup & recovery settings>>>>>system failure uncheck automaitc restarts then click ok.

Now when your computer restarts it will stop at a BSOD. And on that blue screen it will give you information and codes. Write down the code (ie 0x00000008, blah blah blah) and then post back and we should be able to help you trouble shoot from there. And if there is any other info like if it says that it was caused by a driver of device or if it said IRQ_NOT_EQUAL_TOO_OR_LESS_THAN. we need to know that stuff as well.

Get back as soon as you can and we will help out where we can.

How often does you comp restart, is it always at the same time? Or is it random at any time of the day? Once a day or many times?

But do what weaze said, this will identify any hardware issues easily.

Good call, Weaz

Another question . . . have you been overclocking at all? Have you tried clearing the CMOS and then letting your computer go for a bit?
