running a 2500+ -m @1.87Ghz 1.2v Volcano11 heatsink with a ducting thingy and a silenX fan 14db
2 x 512 pc3200 CVS ram (had TwinX LL but needed it for another system)
TT 420watt PSU
2 x 40 gig Maxtor raid 0 using IDE to SATA converters
1 x 120gig WD 7200 8meg
1 dvd player
1 cd-rw
2 x 120mm fans ultra quiet low rpm's that came with the case
Lian-li V1100 case

loudest thing are the harddrives...and even those i can barely hear can't hear anything else...cept maybe PSU if nothing else in the room is running.
damn best case i ever bought kicked the crap out of my Paxmated sonata for quiet. and workmanship on it is out of this world... the front door or the clips for the door won't be breaking anytime soon (as they did after week one with the sonata. need round cables..., but eh well too many wires to hide effectively... and i need em all.

Not too bad...i think you should get yourself some round IDE cables, i think that would really tidy it up in a small price and easy to do way.

What case is that?

I really like the design of that case. It just makes sense to have everything mounted as it is in there.

Looks good. A little wire management would be a ncie touch. I wonder what kind of modding you could do to get that thing spotless on the inside.

I think a good design for a case would have it split in two compartments. The top having the PSU and th HDDs. Just have a massive fan in the top front of the case blowing on them and a blowhole tube running from the main part of the case with spot for the air in the HDD section to enter as its being blown out fo the top. One fan at the top of the blowhole and one (not as strong) on the bottom of tube in the CPU part of the case.

ZF, if you look at the pictures you will notice that it is divided into two areas.
The lower for the HDD's and psu, with a fan at the front blowing over the HDD's and being exhausted by the psu.
Then the upper compartment houses the cd-rom floppy and mobo components. This area has an exhaust fan at the rear, while the intake is supplied by all the little holes in the exterior of the case. In the reviews of this unit they were surprized at how well it cooled. And the reasoning of putting the psu and HDDs at the bottom is to lower the center of gravity in the case and also to keep the hotter parts lower in the case and hence in cooler air.

Thats why it is a beautiful case. And a design that I had been thinking of making since I first saw BTX. Its good to see others out there thinking the same way.

Yeah I saw the two compartments. I was just stating an idea I had about a case. It is an extremely well designed and sleek looking case.

ok just making sure you are awake there

and your idea is a good one too a little like the BTX standard with its different "zones"
