Installed the ECS K7S7ag with a retail packaged 2000+ AMD. Temperature on board says it's running at 77 C degrees! 177? for ferenheit.
Had problems with programs running slow.It has 512 Mb Ram 2700 DDR, and the built in graphics have a built in 64MB of RAM: only board I know that carries it.
I read somewhere AMD shipped the wrong heatsinks with the 2000+. Anyone know?
Also what's the recommende voltage, 1.6V? _________________ What to do, when to do, how much to spend, and where: that is often the question. |

I would have to say that you definitely have a MAJOR heat problem.
What is your case temperature?
Is your 2000+ a thorougbred or a palamino?
Did you remove the plastic tab from the thermal pad when you installed the heatsink? _________________ Owner & Administrator

I called AMD on the problem, their FAN IS SUPPOSE TO BE AT 6800 RPM, not 3000 like mine and it's the green one not the black one I got: they packaged the wrong fan like I suspected.
Their's the problem: check your fan speeds on AMD retail packages, especialy the Athlon 2000+.
They've shipped a new one after I got them the serial number on the fan, I'll let you know the difference when I get it. _________________ What to do, when to do, how much to spend, and where: that is often the question. |

Twice the RPM should really help out the temps. But reember, it's the stock fan which never perform that great to begin with. _________________ Owner & Administrator
