|
|
Inspired by a common misconception, I think starting a thread for everyone to post up the temps they have acheived with their systems. This thread is focused on the many people out there who are new to tweaking, or just new to computers in general and have a question about temps.
P4 cpu: 50 deg Celcius is a good Max. ceiling
AMD cpu: 65 deg Celcius is a good Max. ceiling (from what i know)
these temps are what i consider to be the absolute MAX ever reached safely. Optimally you would want your system to run as cold as possible, there is no such thing as too cold when it comes to Computer temps.......just watch out for moisture. So all of you thinking of putting your whole box in the fridge.....BAD idea.....=]
My temps:
CPU:
idle: 28-30
load: 45-47
MB:
idle: 26-28
load: 30 .......ALWAYS
Hope this helps you all _________________

you also need to take into account the ambient temps as well.
I have four systems to report
1 my main rig see sig below
cpu idle 28-30c load 34-36c
mobo idle 28-29c load 29-30c
2 3.0c asus p4c800 dlx watercooled
cpu idle 28-30c load 34-35c
mobo idle 28-29c load 29-30c
3 3.0c Abit IC-7 MAX3 aircooled
cpu idle 36-38c load 45-48c
mobo idle 30-31 load 33-34c
4 2.53b in a shuttle box with the SiS chipset.
cpu idle 44-48c load 54-57c
mobo 36-38c
all of these are P4 systems running with an ambient of 24-27c _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

50șC cpu
37șC case
however, even at stock speeds, cpu was around 44~52 (max) and case was 33ish ... sooo who knows maybe its just my mobo, and im all set there _________________ Asus P5W DH (bios 1407)

CPU= 27-29 idle 44-46 load
Case= 23- 27
MB= 27- 30
and scoth, download CPU-Z and run Prime95 to run the computer at load. Then open CPU-Z and read after prime 95 has been running 5-10 minutes. |

65C is pretty hot for an AMD. That would greatly reduce its lifespan. I would say that 55C is a good ceiling.
my temps: 1st pc
45C load CPU
30C load mobo/case
27C idle CPU
19C idle mobo/case
2nd pc
52C Load CPU
35C load case/mobo
45C idle CPU
30 C idle case/mobo
Very good topic TH! _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

I would also say that 65C is a bit too hot and that its best to stick around 55C max...good post TH. My temps are:
IDLE
CPU = 38-40C
Mobo = 25-28C (somehow)
Load
CPU = 44-48C
Mobo = 30-33C _________________ »4 RS«»1Ж «»1 DENE«»1 FREAKIN LAME OH«»1 MONEY MONEY«

remember to add the info of what type of hardware the temps are for. That way other with the same as you can get some idea of where they stand. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

Quoted because i remembered to click the quote button. I just couldnt be bothered to hit delete or click back...so i wrote it to emphasise the great point your made JW!
I have AMD 2400+ and a coolermaster aero 7+
How bout AMD 64 and prescott (laughs) temperatures...whats safe and whats not for those CPU's. They will be useful for some people, i obviously dont know.
Dont forget P3 and AMD T-Bird and the good ol' cely!  _________________ »4 RS«»1Ж «»1 DENE«»1 FREAKIN LAME OH«»1 MONEY MONEY«
