I just built a system with a p4 3.0ghz 800fsb. It has an Abit IC7 mobo, and the BIOS doesn't have an options of changing the multiplier. So I upped the FSB to 233, making the cpu speed 3.5ghz. After windows loaded, the computer suddenly rebooted, which I don't understand because the temperature didn't rise on the cpu that much (56c at most). Any ideas as to why it rebooted and how to make it work? Anyway, so I put it down to 226, making it 3.4 ghz, it rebooted on me again. Now, I am at 222fsb (3.33 ghz) and it seems to be working fine, cpu temp is at 52c. I have no special cooling, just fans and the standard intel heatsink and a 400 watt ps. Is it safe to stay at this speed, and can I go any higher? And is there a way to change the multiplier with this mobo?

everyone must draw a line somewhere....
we do not use the word "intel" in my house (unless we are out of other insults), so as for any hints on how to "make the most" out of those chips....I am of no use to anyone...unless you want to make a paperweight.

but no matter the differences....the principles are still the same.
follow the FSB path...and try the voltage.

First of all, did you change any of the voltages?
