I need some mod ideas for my case. I have this case.

It is plain but I like the simple looks. I was either thinking a window mod or a paint job. But I was wondering what you all think was the better of the two. I don't think I could live with just a square window so it would probably be something a little different from the norm. I am leaning more towards some painting.

Also since this case is aluminum are there any special precautions to take when painting or cutting? I have only done steel...not on computer cases though.

I would suggest a nice window mod with some lights of some sort. Its a good idea to use tape to make a clean edge and so you don't scratch up your case.

The dremel most people's best friend. I prefer a good jig saw, high speed metal blade.

A paint job wouldn't be too bad, although the case already looks pretty good int htat department.

i would go with the window mod. but thats because im lazy. Paint would take longer to pimp out if u will. u can add lights and sleeving to the inside of ur comp when u have a window and it interests more... nontweakers if u will. Sure, if ur an awesome painter then go for it... but i pretty much topped mine out at the fingerpainting level. If u got the skills paint could be very nice... why not do both :)

would be cool if u laid el cable around the drives might add some personality to it, yeah a window mod would be a good mod for that case, cause then u can always do small mods on the inside like lighting and etches and what nots.

I've always liked CM cases. I personally would not paint a nice alum case. Would act as a heat insulator. I know it probably wouldn't be measurable, just doesn't seem right to me. Window mod would be okay. But my fav mod would be lots of nice cool air.

a windows is all you need modding on. make some cool looking side for the window not just a bulky rectangular window, give it some style, some class.

what might be cool is put put a window on the side then if u have dremel skills you can write your name in the smoothest cursive write your name, put a peice of acrylic behind it and a neon kinda above it so it lights up. O_O

Yes, the finish would be complimented by some nice blue LED's.

Maybe you can get a template to etch into your case and cut it out. Something that you find cool or are interested in would be cool to see cut into the side panel.

Yeah that is a fan grill, it has two 80mm fans behind it. I was think about some led fans behind that and the blow hole in the top.
