Here's the skinny...
I had an XP box running...3 partitions....2 NTFS and 1 FAT32 (one for the OS one for games and the FAT32 was for files I wanted to save incase the OS took a dump)
Decided to go dual boot and unload my messy XP (it needed a good cleaning!)
I deleted the largest NTFS partition where XP was and left the other two...
Loaded 98SE in the FAT32 and now have decided that the 'game' partition is too small for my games and I want to load XP in it. I figure I could use the xtra 3G for a couple of more games...
Problem is that 98SE won't see the NTFS so it can't share the files over my LAN so that I can move the files to another PC while I laod the OS and then put them back in the unpartitioned (after I partition it) space after XP is loaded.
I have XP running on other machines and it cannot see the drive either.
Of course the OS has to recognize the drives in order to share them...
I have tried a couple of things but refuse to load some buggy software that only allows me to 'read' the files.....
I need to know how to access and share these NTFS files in my 98SE OS.
I am going to try and load XP in the game partition and hope there is enough space.......then I could format the remaining space and move the files.
I know it seems kind petty over some games...but those patches took some serious DL time...and my UT/MAPS folder is just over 2G by itself.....hehe
