Battlefield 1942 wont install

I was trying install Battlefield 1942 today and it wont install, it will go thtough every thing and ask me for the cd key, but then when it actually starts installing, it just sits there and when i hit cancel it said that the remote procedure call failed. anyone have any ideas what is wrong?

the RPC error sounds like a windows hijack of some sort. . . a worm or trojan.

i have seen this happen before. search the net for a patch or update for windows.

yes this is a legate version and i ran a spyware program and got rid of some stuff and that fixed the problem, thanks for the help.

Nate, have you tried DCX (desert combat extended)?

it makes the helicopters much easier to fly and is alot more balanced and fun overall. computer AI gets a bit of a boost also.

What about BFV? I don't own it but I've played at the local internet cafe and it's pretty fun.

Jay, for the helicopters in 'DCX' , is part of the easier-ness that they dont flip backwards, alot? That would be helpful for me and some friends that just started playing

in DCX, the helicopters aren't as touchy . . . its just like flying them in BFV.
a tip for flying the helicopters is to just tap the keys . . . give 'em a little tappy. tap tap taporoo. thats all the advise i have. DCX also has some very cool new maps that you guys would love.
