for some lucky reason i got my copy of Far Cry a day before its official release, so im quite chuffed.
So ill take this opportunity to say that it KICKS ASS!!!

i reccomend that any1 who remotely likes FPS should buy this game, because its one of the best looking, best playing games i have ever tried.
Let me know what you think of it if any of you guys get it!! Im sure you will.

the computers are dumb as sticks, no AI what so ever, for example:

*boom boom boom* (you shoot someone )
guy right beside him doesnt ask for help doesnt scream for the fact that his friend just got killed, instead he says "hey where did he go" and is the next victim because he walks right infront of you.

only thing keep this game afloat are the nice graphics....

Try changing the difficulty level up a notch. I've been playing FPS's consistently since the original Wolfenstein 3d, and Farcry on challenging is, well, challenging, let alone the harder difficulty levels. Also, once you get past the first few levels and encounter some things that aren't quite human it gets pretty tough.

^^^^^ this is true, actually after playing the game nonstop for about 2 weeks my fist hurts like hell from punching the wall

i cant imagine playing on the hardest difficulty. I didnt notice the bad a.i. but i hear about it alot. I think it might only be on the normal and easy difficulty. good game though, I've actually kinda stoped playing it once I got unreal tournament 04.

do you guys remember the A.I. in half life, cant remember which addon but it was 1 of the older 1's, the comps were smart, they bounced grenades off walls, and literally ran half way across a map to get more ppl to fight you,

and they didnt forget you were there, they wait until u come and try hard to kill you

i just hope the AI is smart in HL2 as well

i agree...it BETTER be.......i'll never forget the first time i was fighting this one marine and just when i thought i had a chance to reload.......HE CAME AROUND THE OTHER HALLWAY AND FLANKED MY A**...........scared the piss out of me...heh...heh......thats what i get for playing that game alone in my roon at night, huh?

i know 2 games that scared me, alien VS predator and Resident evil, both played at night in the dark alone freak me out, when crap just comes outta no where

silent hill is pretty scary in the dark too, and when i was 10, quake 2 was quite scary.

Yeah playing AVP2 at night with good headphones is rather hair raising. And the good old Resident Evil on a big screen with surround sound with all the lights out at 2 am makes you jump a few times. I love it!

And I cant wait for Doom III. but the down side is I think it will make my girlfriend hate my computer

back to far cry, just wandering if any of you guys who play this (with 1.1 patch) with an Nvidia card with the latest drivers have come accross any major (i mean major) bugs in the graphics on some of the levels, in some instances making it impossible to play as it cant load any frames etc.

I'm thinking on picking up farcry and including it into the benchmarks on tweaknews.

That is if I can tear myself away from the game.

I think the game is just incredible, I have had no video problems at all with my 9600 Pro, however to increase the FPS I have installed the softmod drivers. The game takes lot of resources, and that makes some peole quite angry, because they haven't tweaked their systems to make it playable.

I love the game..i did see a prob with the A.I though in the early levels, if you hit one from long range, his partner just kinda looks around like WTF?
but get into the upper levels and they come at you pretty hard and numerous!
that quote about Half-Life and the grenades is absolutely true! that was the BEST A.I. EVER
