...anyone know where I can get such a converter/adapter in the Western Hemisphere? Found some Japanese material without NA distribution info. Have older machines at school and want to mess around w newer cards.
THX in advance.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say "NSB" (no such beast)
there are adapters to go from AGP to AGP PRO or AGP to PCI and even PCI to ISA.
you WILL NOT reap the benefits of AGP unless you use AGP.
the bandwidth throughput and operating frequencies are not attainable by a PCI slot.
there are voltages and signaling set by the northbridge of today's chipsets that control these function where as the PCI is a shared bus system on the southbridge.
there are plenty of makers out there of GF2,3&4 and ATI based cards that offer PCI versions at less cost (usually) than their AGP counterparts.
you may very well find that if you have MOBOs so old that they do not have an AGP slot, and you are using Win3.1 or Win95, that there is no support or drivers for today's cards anyway.
