My computers gonna EXPLODE if it doesnt get cool!!

I forgot to mention too that if there are filters on the intake fans that is also going to cut into their flow rate.

Fans are rated unobstructed, (ie nothing infront of or behind) So when they are installed in the front of the case there is alot of parts in the way of the air flow hindering the efficiency of the fan. It will not be able to move as much air as it is rated for. But the exhaust fan rarely has anything interfering with it. If anything the only thing the exhaust fan has to deal with is the perforations in the case that are meant of a grill for the fan. And as we all know these are easy enough to remove.

My bottom line here is the exhaust fan is going to be better at what it does than the intake fans. So with the example given to us in this tread it is perfectly logical that with the fans given case ventilation will right where you want it.

You never take the PSU as an airflow source.

Also use just the case fans themselves and always have slightly more exhaust than intake.

Again I restate, DON'T use your PSU into the equation.

try them both out........they both have very valid points and have acheived different results........dont you think YOU wil too.........not knocking EITHER of these guru's opinions of course....=]

just go with your gut, and see which one works better for your system and case.....=]

And as to removing the stamped fan grill at the back you would use a dremel to cut it out. If you feel upto doing this I will provide you with directions.
1- the case needs to be empty of any electronic component.
2- take the fan that is supposed to be mounted in that location and put it in place then trace on the outside of the case a circle that corresponds with the inner diameter of the fan housing.
3- use a dremel with a cut off wheel to cut along the trace you made. REMEMBER when using power tools to wear eye protection! and do this in a location that is easy to clean like a patio or garage. As this process of cutting will leave metal fillings all over the place.
4- use a file or the sanding drum attatchment on the dremel to remove any rough edges on the hole that was just cut.
5- Blow the case completely out with canned air (if you dont have access to an air compressor) make sure you get it clean as little particles of metal and electronic components dont mix.
6- reinstall all necessary parts (ie fans, fan grills, computer parts and psu)

During the entire 2-3 weeks of this thread i've managed to totally rearrange my water setup. Add a GPU block and reset. Add RAM Sinks to the Radeon9800 Pro. Added 2 stealth fans. And you still haven't bought any fans for your computer yet? I think you should just go with 1 of the 32487 opinions that were stated already, find out who makes more sense and why. Then buy some damn fans!
