Does anybody know of a good partition manager that is free and supports NTFS with large hard disks (160 and 250GB) especially moving, resizing partitions.

Thanks.

I dont know of any free ones.
Someone "gave" me Partition Magic but I never use it because I only have one partition. I hear it works great though.

Partition Magic is good but its irriversiable i belive cause when i used it at school it completely messed up our HDD and the only way to fix it was to remove the partiton with partition magic so i would watch out with the program.

Free partition managers are available but I would not recommend one.
Software that changes my drives, moves data, files, saves data etc.
Had better work flawless because the risk would be too great. I
Would not use low level software in this area for this reason.
I use Partition Magic 8.0 on several machines and it works great.
Want to use more than 1 OS ? no problem. Create, merge or resize several partitions For OS, Programs, Data, Backups etc? It can do it. Move files from one partition to another? Easy. Several partitions make backups much easier also.Use PriceGrabber or NexTag to find a low price. Don’t pay too much. It
varies a lot in price (20 –70 US $)

I dunno, I bought mine but they came enclosed in the protective anti-static wrapping but not in a box. Just the drive, nothing else.
Is that normal, or did I get completely ripped off? I asked the shop keeper but he said it's normal, though, he'd say that in any case, even if it isn't normal.

well, with every new maxtor and WD drive i have purchased, they have all come with setup disks. they are almost necessary to set up the drives correctly. i don't think its normal not to get one.

Interesting. Hmm. I just don't think a shop retailer would take out the drive, sell it by itself. What would they do with the remainder of the components. That seems pointless.
Perhaps it some kind of bulk purchasing thing or something or OEM drives or something. Perhaps they fell off the back of a truck (joking, btw, it's a small shop but I doubt they'd do that).

Even though I got all my Maxtors like that, I didn't need to set any of them up. I only needed to have Win XP SP1 installed.

On the topic of drives. Why exactly does, for example, my 250GB maxtor is advertised as being 250GB big but is reported in Windows as having 233GB and next to that in brackets it has 250,994,384,896 bytes.
