I’ve had it with the NB Fan on my IC7-G it is the loudest thing in my room when the music is off. I just ordered the Zalman NB47J.
I also purchased Artic Silver Silver adhesive to fasten that bad boy but I've never done it and I seek your advice.
How much do I apply to maximize thermal conduction? Are there any Trix? I've heard some say that maybe mix it with equal parts A, B, and say AS5 ? Would this make it a little more "removable" in the future and increase cooling?
What do ya all think?

I would take a trip to the arctic silver website and follow their directions. _________________ Owner & Administrator

I used AS5, its a bit more tricky than normal thermal paste to apply as its very thick, and more solid than liquid if you know what i mean.
You dont need to apply loads either, just over the core so that you just cant see it,
too much = loss of conduction = more heat
too little = little conduction more heat
But as nate said, there site should tell you all you need to know.

use a 50/50 mix... just like epoxy...
a thin layer is all you need and act fast... leave it to set for 5-10 minutes (or more just to be safe)
assume that it is perminant unless you want to scrap your board.... |

The ZM-NB47J (passive NB HS) fits snug on an Abit IC7-G with a Zalman 7000ACu (quiet CPU HS) with about 2mm clearance and a noticable drop in noise. I'm very pleased with the look and result.
