|
|
This requires knowledge of the Thermaltake XaserIII case.
I have a 550W PSU that is powering my main system. All the molex connectors are used up. I've got an old 250W psu lying around that I would like to install in the case so it can power say my cold cathodes etc, so I can free up some of the molex connectors on the main PSU.
I was wondering whether anybody can suggest a suitable place to put the 250W Psu on the case. I don't really want to drill, dremel, etc.
Thx. _________________

i would suggest in some 5.25" bays or somewhere towards the top of the case if you want it inside the case. keep all the warm air to the top and away from your components. _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

thought so, not as if you need any more power, and having a PSU in the drive bays would just be awkward and ugly!
Make sure you get the blue ones!! _________________ »4 RS«»1Ж «»1 DENE«»1 FREAKIN LAME OH«»1 MONEY MONEY«

and if you were going to add another psu the one to use would be the type used int he shuttle boxes. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

Thanks FTR, but i'm not really looking to buy a whole new case especially when my one is very new.
I think the molex Y-cable splitters will be great.
Thanks anyway, tho. _________________

don't all power supplies fit in that space? _________________ Owner & Administrator

Thx, i'll see what I can do.
Btw, I notice you've got the Zalman cooler. I've got the CNPS7000A-Cu but it didn't come with no orange attachments. Or is this attachment just something you made yourself?

This is the solid copper zalman with a "Boberator" attachment....
OK, ok,... so one of my buddies did a nice ducting mod to his case and his name was BOB since this is my idea of ducting on my zalman I named it after BOB, It is a 64oz paper cup cut in half stretched, painted florecent orange, and placed over the zalman, it literly will drop my P4 OC'd 2.6 cpu temps 3 degrees weighs nothing, also the case fan with the light blows in..so the air gets deflected to the video card and PSU's above cpu. all air exits the front window screen. |

Why do you have the cover around your CPU heatsink.
You know it is hindering it right? _________________ Owner & Administrator
