Any one see the new Thermaltake Silent Tower heatsink
looks like a sweet design...waiting for it to hit the market so i can get my hands on it... if it's any good, might replace the two fans on it for tornado's :)

well i finally got it in and man is it looking good...
problem though...
the way my socket is on my board, the fans are in an up down orientation (suck from bottom blow out top) problem with that is that the powersupply not only prevents me from putting another fan, it also completely blocks the airflow... just wrote thermaltake about the problem ...in the mean time most likely will make a custom fan bracket out of scrap metal.

will keep you all updated about it

IMO this one is way better, 100% copper and it can cool a P4/AMD without a fan becasue of the heatsink design, but they recommend a fan for even better cooling

It would be great if someone (hint, hint Nate) could do a comparison review between the CoolerMaster FTR posted and the Thermaltake meobius posted.

They're similar and it would really really would be help full to see some figures to compare, that could then be used to compare to other products, like the Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu. Hehe to see which ones perform better.

Maybe Nate could implement some kind of ranking system that would enable you to compare all the HSF to each other, regardless of the type. That would be so useful when say deciding to buy one of those CoolerMaster Aero things or a Thermaltake thing meobius posted or even the Zalman CNPS ones.

Can't it be taken off and the fan portion orientated the other way so it blows out the back?

On the thermaltake site it looks like you can.

FTR why not use a proc that runs hot? By doing so you can demonstrate how well the cooler works!

i can't turn it cause it's a rectangle not a square... it's like 92wide x 92 high x 80 deep. Also the heat pipes stick out the top a little, so i would have to drill holes for them (the old ones don't line up)

so far though i can run it without the coverthing... the two 80mm tornados i have as exaust on the case are taking care of it

I have tried to keep mine as quiet as possible while retaining the cooling capacity.

good grief!! you should mod your case and get some 'Hoover" stickers for it. That would be a cool mod a computer in a Eureka complete with some loud ass fans.
