How to delete a dual boot setup?

When I start up my comp gives me 3 secs to choose which OP system to go in, the the thing is the second option is blank. It's not a big issue I would just like to get rid of those wasted 3 secs. I've heard I have to delete somethiing from boot.ini or something. Anyone know how?

you will have to get a partition program and delete all the partitions.

Then setup one boot partition.

your boot.ini files messed up go to start>run and type in msconfig and go to the boot.ini tab and see if anything is wrong or it looks like it has 2 of the same thing on it. ive had this problem before and fixed it by fixing the boot.ini file.

if you dont want to risk loseing what you have, getting a program to fix ur partition will work too. Other than that, it's strait formatting the computer.

I would do it by opening boot.ini in a text editor (notepad will do) and simply deleteing the line that contains the boot OS that is a double entry. The boot.ini is a hidden file on your C:\ drive. It is a system file.
BACKUP THE BOOT.INI ONTO A FLOPPY BEFORE YOU DO ANY OF THIS.
Done properly it's very safe but backup anyway. I do it like that most of the time when I need to.

Alternatively use the msconfig app.

I wouldn't suggest going through touching a partition program/formatting etc just for a minor prob like that.

Btw, how did you end up with two entries in teh first place? Do you have another OS installed, in which case you WILL need to reformat and install only one OS.
