Hi guys:
I do not know if I am in the right place, but I have a little problem with hijackers/spyware stuff.
My browser had being hijacked. I like to have my home page (HP) with google. Well, not any more. Now it is with “about:blank”...A while ago, once in a while my home page was changed that way or to “msn.com”...that is why I’m suspecting Microsoft is involved in this.
Well, when that happen I just went to Control Panel/Internet Options/Internet Properties/Tab: General....and in the upper part, where it says: “Home Page”....(below) “You can change which page to use for your Home Page” ....and in the slot “Address:” ...I just typed again...”google.com”...and then I clicked in the “use current” button and voila, problem solved. Well, I can not do that any more, this “use current” button has being disabled (now it looks like “ghost”, where the letters are hardly visible, ...and the button “delete cookies” had disappeared completely. After I reinstall W-Me the cookies button reappears but only for a while). So now I am stuck with this HP and my system has slowed down completely, crashes...etc. I had to reinstall W-Me three times already because it reached a point in which nothing worked.
Now I fought this with Spybot S & D, Norton AntiVirus 2004, Spyware Guard, Ad-Aware 6.0. With all this I was able to detect what I think is the culprit: “nfednf.dll” ...The program “Hijack This” shows: [02 BHO: (no name) – {060153DE-D566-4ECD-8ACB-7672930CBFA3} – C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEMS\NFEDNF.DLL]
With the program: “Hijack This” I tried to deleted it. It does not work. (“Hijack This” frozens) Nothing works, ...I tried even to delete it manually, but this sign appears: “Cannot delete nfednf.dll. The specified file is used by windows”. I am guessing that I have more than 1 problem. I installed “Registry Mechanic” and “Complete Registry Cleaner”, but they show me so many items, that I do not know what to do with them.
I will be very thankful for any suggestions. I am at the end of my rope.
Thanks again.
Jaime

do a scan with adaware, spybot search & destroy and CWShredder
Make sure you update them before you run them. _________________ Owner & Administrator
